Fertility Optimization & Natural Conception

Have you always dreamed that one day you’d become a parent when the timing was right? But now that the time has come, you never thought it would be so hard?

Unfortunately most couples don’t know there is a problem until they decide to have a baby and it just doesn’t happen. Or, it may have been easy to get pregnant with your first child but now that it’s time for baby number two or three it’s just not as easy. Or, maybe you’ve been able to get pregnant only for it to end in miscarriage, heartache and many tears.
The causes of infertility are numerous and these couples are often catapulted into a wild emotional and physical spiral of diagnostic testing, treatment, trying to get pregnant (sometimes successful, sometimes not), more testing, more treatment and at times more failure.
For some women, they have been diagnosed with a gynecological condition and have been told they would likely never be able to conceive. Yet that desire to have a child has never gone away and has continued to grow as a deep ache in their heart.
If you have been trying to conceive and it hasn’t yet happened, you are not alone. For many couples, conceiving a child is a dream and a deep yearning to create a new life. We have worked with many on this journey, and with hope and patience we hope to be able to help you to achieve your dreams of conceiving a child.

Comprehensive Assessment

This initial step is crucial for understanding your overall health and fertility status. It typically includes:

-
Medical History: Gathering information about your personal and family medical history, including any previous pregnancies, miscarriages, menstrual cycle regularity, and any known reproductive health issues.
Cycle Tracking

Monitoring your menstrual cycle helps identify patterns and irregularities that may affect ovulation. This involves:

-
Tracking Menstrual Cycles: Keeping a detailed record of your menstrual cycles, including dates, flow intensity, and duration.
-
Identifying Ovulation: Using methods such as basal body temperature monitoring, cervical fluid and ovulation predictor kits to determine if and when you are ovulating.
-
Underlying Pathologies: Assessing for conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, or uterine abnormalities that may hinder conception.
Blood Work & Other Testing

Laboratory tests are essential for pinpointing hormonal imbalances or other medical conditions affecting fertility. This may include:

-
Hormone Level Testing: Evaluating levels of hormones like estrogen, progesterone, luteinizing hormone (LH), and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) to assess ovarian function.
-
Thyroid Function Tests: Checking thyroid hormones, as thyroid disorders can impact fertility.
-
Genetic Testing: In some cases, assessing for genetic disorders that might affect reproductive health.
-
Other Tests: Depending on initial findings, additional tests such as ultrasound imaging or hysterosalpingography (HSG) might be recommended to evaluate the reproductive organs.
This comprehensive approach helps identify the root causes of fertility issues, allowing for tailored treatment options that can enhance your chances of conception. Each step is crucial for forming a complete picture of your reproductive health and guiding subsequent interventions.

The treatment timeline to MAKING HEALTHY EGGS & SPERM

Improving egg and sperm quality is always an important part of any fertility treatment plan. Let’s remember that the follicle maturation process in the ovary takes approximately 100 days and it can take this period of time to achieve benefits on egg quality, yet you’ll likely begin to see improvements along the way. Respecting the timelines of both egg quality (100 days) and sperm health (90 days), ideally I would work with both parents for a minimum of 3 cycles.
Safe, effective & evidenced-based approaches are available to treat the following conditions:

Our approach to optimizing fertility, can be modified to enhance or support assisted reproductive technologies, In vitro fertilization (IVF) or Intrauterine insemination (IUI). It is also excellent for those thinking about conceiving or who have just begun trying to conceive. Either for the early identification and/or treatment of imbalances that may affect your ability to conceive or to simply strengthen and support your reproductive system for optimal conception.
You don’t need to wait 12 months before having a fertility assessment or a referral to a fertility specialist. If you are ready to get pregnant now or thinking of pregnancy in the near future, there is no time like the present to begin optimizing your fertility.
